The Quiet Strength of Perseverance
Let’s be honest: perseverance doesn’t feel very glamorous. It looks like folding the laundry for the tenth time this week. It’s making dinner while refereeing arguments and answering emails. It’s showing up at church when you’re bone-tired and dragging three kids behind you.
Perseverance often shows up in the mundane, messy middle—the space where progress feels invisible and recognition is nowhere to be found.
But here’s the truth I’ve been clinging to lately (and 1 of my favorite verses):
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9
There’s a harvest coming. Maybe not today, maybe not this week—but God promises it’s on the way if we keep going.
Perseverance is Saying Yes
It’s not about pushing harder in your own strength. It’s about saying “yes” to the next right thing—even when you’re tired.
A whispered prayer at bedtime when you’re wiped out and would rather just sleep
Choosing to be calm when everything in you wants to snap
A kind word to your teen or spouse when you’re frustrated and simply want to scream
Speaking calmly when you want to yell
Showing up even with messy hair and a tired heart
These small acts of faithfulness matter. They add up. And they become the threads God weaves into a beautiful testimony of endurance and hope.
What Keeps Us Going?
Perseverance isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. It’s about walking with God through the mundane parts of life and leaning on His strength, not your own.
And remember, you’re not alone.
God is There.
Today’s Effort
The seeds you’re sowing today in faith, in parenting, in your quiet obedience—they are not wasted.
Whether you’re sowing seeds in your children, in your home, or in your own heart—don’t give up. You’re not alone. Your perseverance matters.
You’re not just surviving—you’re sowing the seeds for a great harvest.
And your harvest is coming.
