How to Handle the World’s Events

Life is full of mystery and so is God. When we look at all of the world events with so much evil and divisiveness, it is easy to feel fearful and discouraged. We want to know “Why God do you allow these things?” We really simply cannot comprehend God’s plan. God really wants us to ask “How do You want me to view this situation? and What do You want me to do right now?”

So, in order to view the situation in truthfulness and light we need to be the light.

Ephesians 5:7-14 Says –

Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth),trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.

Sadly, there is a lot of untruth and craziness out there so be careful what you believe.

What can we do right now?

The experts tell us when we are worried and overwhelmed about the world’s events, we need to recognize what we can and cannot affect. As I see it, we can do 3 things.

First, pray. God knows what is going on and how to handle it.

Second, have faith God will handle it and we will be ok.

And third, stay close to those you love and try to live your life with them. This to me is the most difficult. I decided a long time ago that we do not know when our end will be. Life is short and it is high time to enjoy the people you love. Living in hiding and in fear is not good. It does not have to be anything grand. My daughter, who is doing online school this semester, and I spend my morning work breaks either playing cards or going for a walk. We talk about the world and enjoy each other in the moment. My neighbor and I take a few walks per week as an afternoon work break. (We both work from home.) My husband and I do a special home happy hour every week and then binge watch tv. Find small ways to enjoy the moment because the big stuff is just too overwhelming to focus on. Focus on what you can give hope and light to, and be the light to others.
