Devotional: The Power of Presence

Scripture:
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
—Romans 12:10 (NIV)

As moms, our days are full of checklists and responsibilities. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget that one of the most powerful gifts we can give our children is our presence. Not perfection. Not Pinterest-worthy meals or color-coded calendars. Just us—fully present, fully loving.

Jesus modeled this so beautifully. He didn’t rush people through their needs. He saw them. He paused. He listened. He touched lives by showing up with compassion, even in the midst of crowded demands.

When we pause for five intentional minutes with our children, we mirror His heart. A smile at the breakfast table. A gentle back rub. A whispered prayer over their day. These moments may feel small, but they fill our children’s hearts with safety, security, and love.

This week, let’s ask the Lord to help us be present—really present. Let’s trust that our little acts of love matter deeply in the lives of our kids.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to slow down and see my child the way You do. Remind me that my presence is powerful, even in the small and ordinary moments. Fill me with Your love so I can pour it out freely. Amen.
