We all seem to have a longing to be fully alive. Mental health experts claim that mental health issues are on the rise. They claim that Covid brought out more depression and longing to be fully engaged as we have been locked down and isolated. We want our jobs/daily tasks/school days to flow like a dance. This is why we get frustrated. Dancing uses our physical, spiritual and mental being. Nothing feels more complete to me then dancing. The music touches the depths of my soul. I feel closer to God and humanity. This is the secret to becoming fully alive. Often times we cannot find all three aspects in a particular place. Life is truly a balance in every area of your life. My mantra is to balance faith, family and fun to make it all seem worth it…..to feel alive! Today I will list out some ideas on how to balance your physical, spiritual and mental well-being.
Physical
Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Whether it’s a brisk walk, yoga, or hitting the gym, regular exercise helps keep your body in optimal condition. I take 30 minutes every morning to do a quick walk with my dog. This clears my head and gets me moving. During my walk I pray to God. I thank him for my blessings. I ask for things that are in my immediate circle of influence and then I pray for the greater good. I listen to 1 podcast or youtube that is positive and short….about 5-10 minutes. This is my fallback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJK-9PZdBZw I listen to this while I am getting ready for work. I need to get my head in the right space to get my day started off positive.
Spiritual
Nurturing your spiritual health involves finding a sense of purpose and connection to something greater than yourself. Spend time each day praying and listening to positive influences. Take time for self-reflection. Whether through journaling, prayer, or contemplation, reflecting on your values and beliefs can provide clarity and purpose. Spend time in nature. Whether it’s a walk in the park or a hike in the mountains, connecting with the natural world can be a powerful way to nourish your spiritual side.
Mental
A healthy mind is essential for navigating life’s challenges and enjoying overall well-being. Develop effective stress management techniques. This could include practicing mindfulness, engaging in hobbies, or seeking professional support when needed. Keep your mind active by pursuing hobbies and activities that challenge and stimulate your intellect. Lifelong learning contributes to cognitive well-being.
Be The Light
By nurturing your body, connecting with your inner self, and fostering mental resilience, you can embark on a journey towards holistic well-being. We all need to be positive to spread the light to others. I want to be a light in this world! Plan ahead of time to be positive and to be the light our world so desperately needs!
