With Christmas approaching, school finals for my 3 teens, stress at my husbands work and a new job for me we are all running on nearly empty. I do these 4 things every late fall/early winter to try to avoid getting sick.
- A have everyone in the family take an immune support vitamin in the morning and night. Zinc, Vitamin D and Vitamin B are big for immunity. This one has lots of berries and ginger as well. Along with vitamins I try to keep eating healthy. This is tough with all the sweets and treats. Fresh fruits and veggies aren’t as good at the stores so I do a lot of dried fruits. Watch the sugar on these but I like raisins and apricots.
- A Daily Nasal Rinse helps get all the germs out. The box claims it can prevent colds and corona. I really hated this at first but am always so stuffy in the winter. Even the kids are getting used to it and it really seems to help us all.
- Reduce your stress. Don’t you get tired of hearing that one! It is tough especially this time of year. I have been trying a new technique so I can at least start my day in the right direction. I get up before the family (which isn’t easy all the time). If they are up, I lock myself into the bathroom and do this. It takes just 10 minutes. I dab anxiety ease on my wrists. I take 10 deep breaths while inhaling the essential oil and I pray for a clear mind, a hopeful heart and lots of patience.
- Wash hands like mad! I recently started a new job and had to go in for fingerprinting. He couldn’t get a read on them. I went in twice. I asked why he couldn’t find the prints, and he said “oh, you must wash your hands a lot. I bet you never get sick.” There it was! And he is right by the way. I rarely get sick.
